Rob Riches Morning Abs Routine
I was doing some more reading up on fitness model Rob Riches. I am a big fan of Rob because he has managed to achieve such a well developed physique which is perfect in symtery, muscle mass and condition - the epitomy of Aesthetic.
I came across a video showing his morning abs routine which he performs most weekdays before breakfast. This ab routine acts as his morning fasted cardio for fat burning as well as to develop his abdominals.
The video was filmed 9 weeks out from a Men's Physique show known as the NPC West Coast Classic so Rob is in great condition and you can really see his muscle mass showing through.
The morning ab routine made perfect sense to me. Instead of wasting time (there are definitely not enough hours in the day if you have a full time job, train for aesthetics and dieting hard) on cardio equipment performing low intensity steady state cardio why not develop your abs and work on that six pack.
I have found that when I train abs they don't tax my body anywhere near as other muscle groups such as legs, back, shoulders or chest. Therefore although training abs as your fat burning cardio may be a little more taxing than L.I.S.S the benefits of working them out outweigh the small amount of extra recovery time you may need. This could also be compensated by a slight increase in calories, however everyone is different and this may or may not work.
