High Impact Aerobic Exercise
Classes for high impact aerobics are a vigorous work out for burning calories and leave you feeling fit and on top of the world.
Intense work outs will higher your heart rate and therefore you will burn more calories. You have to be fit in the first place so have a look at the class during a session before you join so that you know what's involved!
If your level of fitness is not up to high impact aerobics then start an easier aerobics class first and build up that stamina. As well as being great for socialising and meeting new people, high impact aerobics also improves balance, agility, endurance, and helps build and maintain healthy bones.
High Impact Exercises
Playing tennis or badminton at a high level can be an intense and high impact exercise, and will soon get even the fittest people sweating. Sprinting or even hill sprinting are some of the best forms of intense exercise. Boxing and other forms of pad work are also great high impact exercises.
You can even perform a high impact exercise at home, by sprinting up your stairs (unless of course you live in a bungalow), walk back down and repeat.
Recently this year, Thomas Dold from Germany won the annual Empire State building run up of 86 flights of stairs! He completed the run in 10 minutes and 28 seconds.
