Hammock Yoga (Anti-Gravity Yoga)
Suspended from the ceiling in a hammock, yoga poses are performed.
This is a new slant on yoga and I can believe it if yoga gurus around the world are cringeing as people swing gently in caccoons of silk to manouver their bodies yoga style.
Anti-gravity yoga to give it it's real name, claims to improve blood flow, help back problems by relieving compression from the spine, and aids yoga poses, especially the more difficult ones. It isn't all about relaxing and breathing while swaying in your hammock either, it can be a quite strenuous work out compared to some types of yoga.
Anti-gravity yoga can be a new and interesting way to exercise for a change from other types of aerobic classes.
Always something new to try and nothing to loose, there need be no worry of heights as anti-gravity is only performed at about 3' from the ground. The hammocks are also really supportive so no fear of falling out. You can also purchase a yoga hammock to have in your home if you have somewhere to put it!
